Patient 310

Home»Gallery»Gynecomastia Revision »Patient 310

This is a 35-year-old resident of Sonoma, California who presented to the Novato office location in Marin County, California for evaluation for redo gynecomastia surgery. He has had his gynecomastia since puberty and, therefore, this is adolescent gynecomastia. He had surgery performed approximately five years ago, but has not been happy with the outcome. He presents at this time for revisional surgery. He underwent gland excision and suction-assisted lipectomy of his chest at Marin Cosmetic Surgery Center, in Marin County, California. He had 2 centimeters of tissue removed from his right side and 6 centimeters from his left. In addition, the liposuction was 325 cc from each side. This patient’s procedure was complicated by a hematoma that developed on his right side after three days. This is fairly uncommon to develop at this late stage and usually occurs in the first 24 hours and 80% of the cases are handled before they leave the surgical facility. Note that his right side has healed uneventfully and the outcome has not been altered by the hematoma. If the blood is evacuated in a reasonable amount of time there will be no altered outcome in the final result.
